As I have been spending more time by the coast in the past few years, I have become very inspired to paint it. I have not painted a landscape for over 16 years and am really enjoying painting these beach scenes. I love expressing light - in Australia our summer light is very strong but it brings a crispness and clarity which I find very appealing. I love spending time by the ocean in the fresh air with the wind and waves and I plan to paint many more figurative beach scenes.
